On August 28, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech—a powerful call for equality, justice, and the American promise of opportunity for all. Today marks the 61st anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, a pivotal moment in our nation’s history that still resonates.
As we reflect on this historic day, we are reminded that the fight for jobs and freedom is far from over. At LIUNA, we continue to carry the torch of Dr. King’s vision, standing up for workers' rights, advocating for fair wages, and ensuring safe working conditions for all. Our commitment is to build a future where every worker has the opportunity to earn a decent living, provide for their families, and contribute to their communities with pride.
As we honor Dr. King’s legacy, we must recognize that our fight isn’t over. To protect and advance the freedoms we cherish, it’s essential that we vote for leaders who stand with us. This November, remember that our greatest tool is the power of our vote. Let’s use it to support those who share our commitment to jobs and freedom.
