Laborers’ Local Union 1290 is committed to protect and improve the quality and security of our members’ working conditions and personal lives through pro-active representation, effective political action, and open communication, supported by education and training programs designed to empower Union members.

Local 1290 received its charter in 1938 from (LIUNA) Laborers’ International Union of North America. The Local has jurisdiction over all aspects of construction work in our geographical area representing members across the state of Kansas in the construction industry as claimed by LIUNA. This work includes General Construction in Private, Commercial and Industrial Buildings, Heavy Highway Work, Environmental, as well as Mainline Pipeline Construction, Pipeline Distribution Work, and Routine Pipeline Maintenance.
